To say Teja Federico has a background in athletics would be an understatement; in high school she played four sports, in addition to being a dancer, a power tumbler, and a Triple A softball player. In fact, she traveled the world as a power tumbler with Team Canada, until two spinal fractures forced her into an early retirement. 

Though her injury caused her to give up power tumbling, she continued to be extremely active. Teja completed a half ironman, practiced hot yoga, and found her true passion in barre. After becoming a certified barre instructor, she set out to create her own method that combined traditional barre workouts with aspects of the sports Teja played throughout her life. The result is the Barre Teja, or BT, Method. Low-impact and high intensity, it’s perfect for people who want full body fitness without putting too much strain on their joints.
